Art Ministry
Express yourself and enjoy being On Wednesdays Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church offers to all the members and neighbors the opportunity of nourishing the imagination. Our Minister of the Art hosts open studio sections for those who would like to come and participate in a creative activity. Beginners as well as advanced participants are welcomed. Even if you have never held a brush or painted on a canvas, you will find yourself immersed in the flow of creative energy and experiencing the power of your imagination. The instructor is available each Wednesdays from 3 pm through 8pm Participants may receive an introduction to sketching and drawing, elements of design and composition, an introduction to color theory, and fundamental brush and water based oil techniques. Other media such as clay and tempera or water color will be explored. The healing power of art will be explore as we created a rhythmic discipline of exercise, meditation and prayer. Each session lasts 2 hours, participants may come at the beginning of the two hour slot at their convenience, and are responsible for their own supplies. Otherwise you may use the studio supplies but a donation to cover expenses is expected. This program is offered to the church and the community at no charge, thanks to a grant from the United Methodist Foundation and the Gifts and offerings of our church members.
