It’s July. The air is hot, heavy and full of change. This summer beginning July 5 we move to our new worship time—9:31 am. We will also move to Hassler Hall, our air conditioned basement, as we begin our summer series, Café Church. For those of you who are new, this is an informal service. Wear your summer clothes, come ready to play with God, sit back on a comfy chair and have a cup of coffee on us , as we explore the Good News of the Reign of God among us.

Now just so you don’t think that this is all fun and no content let me remind you that this is never the case at Euclid Ave. UMC. Here’s the summer line up:

July 5th - Dr. Seuss Sunday, Come and explore the Lorax…. Communion Sunday.

July 12th - We will begin the “Three Ring Circus—Microcosm of the Reign of God” series. The first Sunday in this series will focus on the “Bearded Lady”. Did you know that some folks, who are scorned in the regular world become star attractions in the Reign of God?

July 19th - We’ll fly through the air with the greatest of ease…but first we’ll have to let go of the past and reach for the future! We’ll also celebrate a baptism and receive new members.

July 27th - Life’s a tight rope—the trick is balance. So get your peanuts, popcorn, & snow cones at Café Church in July! Then hold on to your seat for the August Series, “The Games Christians Play:

August 2 - “Sorry!” Cheap Grace/Costly Forgiveness Mt. 6:12, 18:22, Communion Sunday.

August 9 - “Scrabble” The Power of Words Jn. 1:1-14, James 1:22

August 16th - “Hungry, Hungry, Hippo” Looking at Gluttony and Greed Luke 12:13-21

August 23rd - “Trivial Pursuit” “Seek Ye First the Reign of God” Mt. 6:25-33

August 30th - “Monopoly” Changing the Rules of the Game Acts 4:32-35 Worship will be followed by our Annual Block Party and Back to School Celebration.

Sept. 6th - “Labor Day” a special service celebrating laborers will be led by Rev. C.J. Hawking,
