July 4th, we will return to our summer schedule and worship format. For those of you who are new, that means: Café Church! So what’s so different about Café Church:
This year we will begin our Café Church summer series by again looking at the Gospel according to Dr. Seuss’s One Fish, Two Fish. We’ll remember that in God’s Reign—From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere. The rest of the summer will be divided into two parts: Church and Community. During the “Church” series we will look at our church life through the mirror of the British comedy, The Vicar of Dibley. We’ll explore a variety of issues together: burying our hatchets in the church cemetery, becoming a church without walls not a museum, staying in old paradigms or seeking new ventures; and revisiting The 7 Last Words: dead end or launch pad. And…. You will have a good laugh when you see and hear our new order for worship! The second sermon series that will begin in August will focus on Community. For this series we’ll be looking at the Gospel according to The King of the Hill. We’ll be sharing more about this series in the August newsletter. |
